A kiosk manufacturer was struggling with keeping their electronics cool enough in an outdoor setting. The kiosk didn't have the surface area to support a typical compressor based air conditioner, and the long term service issues associated with the compressors were also a concern. 

Caliente proposed a peltier based thermoelectric cooler, which operates like a solid state heat pump. The size was right with minimal protrusion into the cabinet. It was also more efficient at higher delta T settings than comparable offerings on the market, which allowed the customer to use a more cost effective power supply. The customer was also able to use the cooler as a heater in cold weather, and utilized a Caliente dual thermostat to control the unit for both modes.
