Caliente heating and cooling systems provide the optimal thermal environment for temperature sensitive electronics. Boards often need thermal compensation at both temperature extremes, and Caliente can ensure proper function at the low end with efficient heating elements, and protecting the life of electronics at the high end with thermoelectric cooling.

Electronics Applications Case Study

A customer realized upon beta testing of their circuit board that the system “froze up” at -20 degress Celsius. The board has beed designed with commercial grade components rated for only 0 degrees C. To switch to industrial or military grade components would push well beyond their budget, and that was only if you could actually source the hard-to-find parts.

A think film heater from Caliente solved the problem. The customer was able to stay with the current design without a costly redesign, doing so with readily available and cost effective components already spec’d in. To further the effectiveness of the heater, a multi-armed design was utilized to heat precisely the chips that required it. Does your board need a boost at low temperatures?
